Changning District
Changning District is in the west of downtown Shanghai. It is bridgehead linking Shanghai and Yangtze River Delta. Changning is “an important window” in the reform and opening-up of Shanghai. The Shanghai Hongqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone was approved as a National Development Zone in 1986 — the only one in the mainland to develop tertiary industry.
